Nathan was born to Catherine Jacobs and the late Stanley Jacobs Sr. in Chester, Pennsylvania and is the fifth oldest of nine children. He is the grandson of the late Rev. Dr. Margaret L. Wortham, founder of Faith Tabernacle Community Holiness Church.
Nathan pursued studies in higher education receiving his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. His professional career in the financial services, pharmaceutical and healthcare industries has led him to over 20 years of progressive experience in sales, training and management where he has coached and mentored sales teams to industry success.
A son of Faith Tabernacle Church, Nathan was introduced to musicianship through his cousin, Bishop Kevin Wortham, who served as the church drummer and his mother, who served as the church organist. Nathan began playing drums at age 11. His love for music and spreading the gospel has led to song-writing opportunities, sharing the stage with various artists, a music production company, a gospel album and the formation of the Muzaholics band.
As a young boy, when asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, Nathan would reply, “a preacher”. He always asked God to use him for His Service. Nathan fondly remembers the counsel and wisdom of his late brother, Dr. Stanley Jacobs, Jr., who told Nathan, God was calling him to leadership and greater service within Faith Tabernacle Church and that his “yes” to God would bring about change in the City of Chester and beyond. At a time when Nathan felt unsure of God’s plan, God used vessels such as his brother to speak purpose into his life.
In December 2019, under the leadership of Overseer Catherine Jacobs, Nathan answered the call to fully serve God, as he was installed as Senior Pastor. He is charged with leading the vision to make disciples of Christ. Along with his wife Shawnique, of 15 years and two children, Laila and Nathan II, Nathan is committed to serving the people of God and equipping them with God’s Word to build strong families in Christ.
Worshipper, mentor, creative and versatile are a few words that best describe Shawnique Jacobs. The wife of Pastor Nathan Jacobs and proud mother of Laila and Nathan II, Shawnique uses her gifts and talents in several administrative and creative functions in the ministry. She has a heart for empowering women and teenagers to face their imperfections and mistakes while using those experiences to develop into who God has called them to be! Shawnique leads the Sisters in Faith women’s ministry which strives to equip and connect women in greater spiritual maturity and empower them to activate their faith to walk fully into their God given purpose. In early December 2022, Shawnique was ordained and licensed as an Elder in a moving ceremony; fulfilling God's calling to serve, lead and develop others.
Shawnique is passionate about encouraging people to live intentional and peace-filled lives and believes it all starts with the power of your words! She is the owner and operator of Rock Your Words, Inc., a faith-based lifestyle and apparel brand that uses the power of words to uplift, inspire and motivate you to live your life to the fullest as God intends. To do that, you must: Speak Life!
Shawnique earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. She served in the field of child protection and foster care for over 13 years while advocating for the needs and well-being of foster children, families and foster parents. She continues to serve the public as a Trainer, Speaker and Community Liaison.
Shawnique believes God has called us to live balanced and whole lives and in doing so, believes that after God, family (whether born into or chosen) is one of the most important factors in life. Spending time with and serving her family is her greatest joy and pleasure.
